and I'm a middle-aged stay-at-home Mum with aspirations to spend my days writing. Many days I actually do housework because I'm procrastinating on the act of actually sitting down at my computer and beginning to write. Even after years and years of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) I still don't consider myself worthy to call myself a writer. I'm still learning things I should have learned years ago. I am currently teaching myself character profiling by deconstructing an already written story which I just sat down and wrote without plotting and profiling. Of course the story came to a whimpering halt as the plot lost itself. I occasionally update my blog, whimsically titled The Fifty Year Old Fangirl. I may one day begin my own life story, but I lead a fairly uninteresting life and can't bring myself to face that fact on paper. I hope being part of this group will help me learn those things I don't already know and help me become a better writer. Thaks, Matt.

Helen! Good to see you here. You forgot to mention one of your most charming aspects... you are a dinky die Aussie! In my book, that makes anything you say a good perspective. And interesting. ;D I look forward to your posts.

Thanks Matt, sorry I forgot to mention that. I have to say, you are one of those Missionaries that didn't just "blend" with the others in my memory. I don't know why exactly that you stood out but you did. Maybe for the same reason that I enjoy reading your posts. Insightful and enlightening. Thank you.
